How It Started
One year ago today, I started a new venture. One I NEVER imagined myself doing. Still kind of shocked I’m doing it… Very much out of my comfort zone, but hey, we don’t grow if we don’t challenge ourselves, right?
Four years ago, I was still struggling with adult acne. Embarrassing! I wouldn’t even leave the house without putting some sort of concealer or foundation on. I had tried what felt like everything. Stuff from the store, crap they advertise on tv, prescription medication from my doctor. Nothing. Worked. Most of it made my skin terribly dry and red! Some of it bleached my towels and pillowcases, and I’m thinking, I’m putting this on my face?! Yikes!!!
Enter my friend selling LimeLife skincare and makeup. It was all natural, most of it vegan, no chemicals, and she was raving about it. Huh. I messaged her and asked her to give it to me straight. I trusted she would since we were friends! It took me a few months to find the routine that worked for me. My skin probably also needed time to readjust from years of harsh chemicals, but six months after I started using LimeLife skincare, I had the best skin I had since I was a kid! I was overjoyed!

Fast Forward
Four years into using these products, it was safe to say I was hooked. My skin looked great, and I only had occasional break outs. I took a makeup free picture when I started LimeLife and again every few months. When I took another picture four years later and compared them, I looked years younger – in the recent picture! The acne was gone. My skin tone was brighter and more even. I looked happier and healthier.
I’m not exactly sure why the thought came into my head that maybe I should sell these products. The idea of the discount was nice. I also would’ve never discovered LimeLife had my friend not been selling them. Maybe I could help someone discover better, healthier skin. So on a whim, I signed up as a LimeLife Beauty Guide and ordered my kit!
So Out of My Comfort Zone!
I’m quiet. I barely even spoke as a child! I tend to keep to myself. I have a close, but small group of friends. And I just signed up to sell LimeLife!! Whaaaaaa?! I’m going to have to TALK to people?! 😀 And ASK them if they want to try it?! Terrifying! And do my skincare and makeup on social media?! Let’s also mention here that I didn’t have a makeup game. My makeup look was so minimal, most people didn’t even realize I wore any! And now I’m selling it?! This is all too amusing!

I signed up as an “orphan” account and was told I needed to have a sponsor, so they were going to place me on a team. My first thought was, “I don’t need a team!” (A little independent here!) But you just don’t know what you don’t know!
I was placed with a leader that was nearby, at my request. I started to meet other Beauty Guides and was invited into groups. As I was learning all the onboarding and different teams, I was really blown away! These other women embraced me and welcomed me with such warm hearts! All these team groups were sharing ideas and graphics and tips. The encouragement and support was a huge surprise. I just signed up. I had no idea that I would get a whole new group of amazing, supportive women in my life!
These teams helped me grow! I couldn’t believe what was all out there! I truly didn’t know the possibilities until being on these teams and following other Beauty Guides! There were team trainings and company trainings. I was putting myself out there in ways that were scary, but also successful! I was learning so much, and my idea of direct sales was completely transformed!
Rockstar Supporters!
No direct sales person will succeed without support and clients. I was blown away, once again, by the support I received and the number of people open to trying LimeLife! Here’s the thing about direct sales and network marketing. We are often selling to people we KNOW and many of whom we LOVE!! I’m not going to sell them garbage. Most of them knew this venture was completely out of character for me, so if I was taking it on, I was passionate about it! They knew they could trust that I was selling a quality line! I’m so grateful they gave me a chance!

I have gotten such joy from this new business! The whole experience has felt like one great surprise after another! It is so much fun helping people transition to a healthy product that is going to make them feel and look amazing. Or helping people that are struggling with a skin issue, like I was. I feel that pain and embarrassment, and I will do whatever I can to help you through that! If you would like help, too, feel free to take my skin quiz! We’ll really focus on what will help achieve your specific skin goals!
Palooza!!
LimeLife Palooza is the annual company conference, and at this point, it just seemed obvious that I needed to go! Other Beauty Guides raved about both the fun and the improvement in their business from attending! This year we were able to take a guest with for free, and I asked my mom if she would join me! She’s been a huge support as I dove into this and also a great client! And what a fun mother daughter trip to take!

Madison and Michele

The conference was at the Gaylord Rockies Resort in Aurora, CO, and that did not suck! 😀 What an incredible place! We went a couple days early to enjoy time at the lazy river, multiple pools, multiple hot tubs, and water slides! They had a ton of other activities to do, but we opted to soak up the sun and water.
The conference started with registration and tons of picture opportunities, surprises, swag, and photo ops with our incredibly down-to-earth co-CEOs, Michele and Madison. The next day of conference was a full day of training. They were coming at us with some tough love, but it’s exactly what we need sometimes. And right up my alley. Stop making excuses! I hate excuses. (Not that I’m not guilty!) It was eye opening and really made us think about how we have been holding ourselves back.
The final day of conference was a mix of panels, exciting announcements, and awards. The panels were fellow Beauty Guides, which was incredibly helpful and insightful. You could have 4 or 5 women on the panel and they would tell you 4 or 5 different ways they would go about something. That’s the beauty of this business – do what works for you! It was so fun seeing the diversity in that room. None of us ran our business the same, nor should we! It’s all about being YOU and doing what works for you and your clients!
How It’s Going…
Amazing! I am so happy I took on this new venture! I really, really regret not being brave enough to do it sooner. I put a lot more time and energy into my LimeLife business than I had anticipated, but I’m also seeing that reflected in my results! And I wouldn’t have to, but I want to! There is so much to enjoy in this business: social interaction, new Beauty Guide friends, helping people find amazing products, hearing how happy they are with them, freedom with how and when I run my business, and the creativity of it all!
It has opened doors that I would have never imagined. It was partially responsible for me starting this blog! It’s given me a new sense of opportunity and possibility. And now I get to really share about how LimeLife sort of changed my life – twice! First when I could feel confident enough in my skin to leave the house without makeup! Second when I discovered a confidence in a business I never thought was for me! Crazy how one seemingly small decision can change your world.

Creating Confidence
That’s what LimeLife is giving me the opportunity to do over and over! As an adult, I’ve been blessed in my self-confidence. But finding skin confidence and then business confidence through LimeLife have just leveled things up! Plus, watching my clients’ confidence grow as they see their own skin and appearance improving…amazing! If you need a boost of confidence in either of these areas, your skin glow or jumping into this business, check out my Why LimeLife page or shoot me a message! I would love to answer any questions you may have! If you get your answers and decide, nope, not for me, no worries!
No matter where your path takes you, I hope you find confidence in it! Be brave. Be bold. Try something that scares you! You just never know what could happen. How it could change your life!
